Casa Cube
Casa Cube is crafted to harmonize with the distinctive climate and stunning landscapes of Khor Fakkan, United Arab Emirates. While the city experiences the hot and humid conditions typical of the region, its climate is uniquely shaped by the dramatic Hajar Mountains to the west and the nearby deep waters of the Gulf of Oman.
At the heart of the design are five strategically placed and oriented cubes, extending from the ground floor to the first level, which responds directly to the site’s environmental conditions. This is to balance privacy needs, optimize daylight, reduce glare, and enhance cross-ventilation. The street boundary is also defined by a slender solid wall with cut openings at the bottom, forming several double-sided planters visible from both outside and inside. In addition, the void created between this wall and the rotated cubes becomes pocket green spaces that offer controlled sun- and daylight to adjacent spaces.
